About Tonia Deese
A dedicated clinician, social worker, and advocate, Tonia Deese is passionate about helping you achieve complete wellness—being healthy in your mind, body, spirit, and emotions. Your work with Tonia will start with finding your strengths and building upon these strengths to meet your goals.
Tonia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Social Work degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Tonia is the owner of Full Circle Wellness and provides counseling to teenagers, adults, and families full time. She is licensed to do so in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist and a Mental Health and Nutrition Clinical Specialist.
She specializes in working with those who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, inter-generational trauma, body image and self-esteem. Tonia enjoys providing Christian counseling for those who are interested, as faith has been an important part of her own healing process.
Tonia is a member of the Waccamaw Siouan tribe, who taught her the importance of taking care of the four parts of the circle (mind, body, spirit, heart). In her free time, she loves running, going to powwows, spending time with family, and teaching group fitness classes.
Tonia is also a writer, curriculum developer and trainer. She provided continuing education to a variety of partners nationwide for over 10 years as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UNC-Chapel Hill School of Social Work.
Tonia is also a Revelation Fitness Instructor and a Live Well Health Coach.
She is available to provide training and consultation to organizations and churches upon request.
